After the base coat wash, I apply full strength red, yellow, and deep brown using a dry brush process. When satisfied, I apply a deep brown wash which mutes the reds and yellows and brings depth to the cracks and crevices.
This end took several applications of the highlight colors to achieve the result I was after.

As the paint is semi-gloss, the next step is an overspray with a satin or matte clear finish. I am still deciding on portals for the entrances.

Additional scenery is being applied to transition the area where a bridge will be installed shortly.
